Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

1. Introduction

IELTS Ready ("we", "our", or "us") operates an IELTS Academic practice platform for students and coaching centers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our website and services.

IELTS Ready is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to IELTS, British Council, IDP, or Cambridge Assessment English. Practice scores are for preparation and teacher feedback, not official exam results.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data: name, email, password (hashed), role, and optional center membership
  • Practice data: answers, submissions, scores, history, and Writing/Speaking review notes
  • Speaking audio: microphone recordings you make during Speaking practice (stored for review)
  • Billing data: set credits, center plan, and payment references (bKash TrxIDs and bank transfer references for manual verification; card processor references if card checkout is enabled). We do not store full card numbers.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser/device details, and security logs needed to operate the service

3. Writing & Speaking review and AI estimates

Center students' Writing and Speaking are reviewed by their coaching center's teachers and are not sent for AI scoring. Independent students' Writing and Speaking receive an AI-estimated band.

  • Independent students' Writing answers and Speaking recordings are sent to Google Gemini to produce an AI-estimated band, feedback, and a transcript. The transcript is saved with your attempt.
  • Google processes this data under the Gemini API terms, which set how long Google keeps it and whether it may be used to improve Google's services.
  • AI estimates are practice feedback, not official IELTS scores.
  • Provider terms and retention rules apply in addition to this policy. Do not submit sensitive personal data you do not want processed by this provider.

4. How we use your information

  • Provide practice tests, scoring, history, and center tools
  • Authenticate accounts and protect the platform
  • Process set credits, center subscriptions, and payment verification
  • Send transactional email (verify, reset, billing, onboarding)
  • Improve reliability and prevent abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

5. Where data is stored

Application data is stored in our PostgreSQL database (hosted by our database provider). Media such as diagrams and Speaking audio may be stored on Cloudflare R2 or compatible object storage. Exact regions depend on our hosting configuration.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication and essential session features. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic and product usage. Analytics scripts load only after you accept cookies. You can decline and continue using the site. Essential auth cookies are not optional for signed-in features. Change this later from in the footer.

7. Third-party services

We use third parties to operate the platform, including:

  • Authentication (e.g. Google OAuth)
  • Payments (bKash and bank transfer, verified manually; a card payment processor if card checkout is enabled)
  • Email delivery (e.g. Resend)
  • AI evaluation for independent students' Writing and Speaking (Google Gemini)
  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4, only with consent)
  • Error monitoring (Sentry)
  • Hosting and media storage (e.g. Vercel, Neon, Cloudflare R2)

We do not sell your personal data.

8. Data security & retention

We use industry-standard safeguards (hashed passwords, access controls, HTTPS). We retain account and practice data while your account is active. Free independent students may have a limited history window. You may request account deletion via [email protected]. Independent students can also delete their account from Account after signing in. Center-managed students should ask their coaching center.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location (including GDPR / UK GDPR / India DPDP where applicable), you may request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

10. Children and minors

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you should use the platform only with a parent or guardian's permission. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date on this page.
